How this version of Recipe to List handles the information you use to plan and shop.
Updated
Recipes and calculations
Recipe to List works with the recipe names, ingredient text, directions and notes, serving counts, meal selections, extra shopping items and their amount notes, and shopping checks you enter. Ingredient calculations run on your device. This version does not send recipe text to an AI service or fetch recipes from other websites.
Saving on your device
The browser version saves your collection in this browser’s local storage. The iPhone version saves it in the app’s local storage. These are separate copies, with no account or automatic sync between devices. Clearing browser or app data, or removing the app, can remove the local copy. Keep an exported backup if you want a portable copy of your collection.
Sharing and backups
The browser’s Copy action places the selected text on your clipboard. When you choose Share or export a backup, you choose its destination. Backups include your recipes, ingredients, directions and notes, serving choices, meal selections, extra shopping items and their amount notes, and shopping checks; anyone with a backup file can read that information. Restoring reads the file or backup text you select and replaces your collection after you choose to restore it. A recovery copy, when available, contains the original saved text that the app could not open.
Other services
The app code has no added advertising or analytics integration and no custom backend for storing recipes. Opening the website still involves its hosting service and your browser. Your operating system, clipboard, file provider, and any app or service you choose for sharing may handle information under their own settings and privacy policies. Device or browser backup features may also keep copies according to your settings.
Removing your information
You can remove saved recipes and extra shopping items inside the app. To remove the browser’s local copy completely, clear this site’s stored data in your browser settings. Removing the iPhone app can remove its local copy. Recipe to List has no online account to delete. Copies you exported, shared, or kept in device backups must be managed separately at those destinations.
